Day 1547 Largs last night, run, weeding, dog walk and dog shower and a party!

Gayle and I had a lovely wee evening in Largs last night. It was still quite warm when we got there.

The Largs Cumbrae ferries were in and out like yo-yos last night. it’s such a short crossing and when two ferries are on in the summer, it’s double the speed!

We went to Fish Works on the sea front and Gayle had haddock and chips and I had onion rings and chips and cheese.

The seagulls were wild with everyone eating and there’s always that one person who feeds them!?! I gave the one near me a look…. 😆

We went for a walk after we’d eaten and sat looking out towards the sunset while we had a right good catch up.

The sky was just as dramatic as it had been in the morning.

As usual I took a few.

When I got home the clouds were lovely.

I was in bed for 9.30pm and up at 7am to run with Rachel.

It was just a wee short one today, under 4k but still adding up through the week.

Then I started weeding….. AGAIN!

Would you believe this only took just over an hour. I’ve hated those weeds for so long. An hour and they’re gone…. For now 😆

The greenhouse had gone wild!!! This grapevine was planted in 1972, the same year I was born. It had taken over the greenhouse!

Not any more…..

I was losing the will to live by now. 😆 the Rambling Weeder is done 😆

Then I got the Borders out for a walk.

Bhruic was white and fluffy before she went into the wee water channel at the side of the field.

This is the look I get when I tell her she’s getting a shower when we get home!

And she did…. Bless her.

Lemme outta here!!

All done.

I’m soaked, the bathroom’s soaked but hey, she’s a bit cleaner!

Only then did I get my shower and then broke my fast and ate some lunch at 2pm.

We’re off out to Craig’s friend’s 50th birthday party and we’re heading off shortly. I’m in my comfy dungarees again. But hey… they are comfy!

I’m knackered but it’s been a great day. I’m so proud of all the weeding I’ve done.

Instead of going out and visiting other places, I’m taking the time to look after what we already own. I’m pleased with the garden now. There’s more to do but that will come.

Day 1476 a funeral, the spider, the car, the housework and the lunch

I woke before 6am.

It was calm and sunny outside.

I mentioned recently that a guy I used to work with had died, well, this morning I watched his funeral. I love that I was able to do that when I couldn’t get time off work to be there.

I laughed and I cried but most of all I remember Des coming into my office and smiling and calling me Jules as he always did. Des was larger than life, everyone knew he was around when he walked in the office. He adored his daughters and granddaughter and showed me photos of them all the time. It was a lovely service for a lovely man.

We got up after 7am and had coffee outside. It was already clouding over.

We had to take Bertie Beetle down to the garage before 9am.

I got a towel for my shower and a MASSIVE spider crawled out!!! It was ENORMOUS. The capital letters don’t do it justice.

I SCREAMED at the top of my lungs and ran through the house.

It was GIGANTIC!!!

My Apple Watch chose that moment to vibrate and deliver a message.

I started jumping around trying to shake it off my wrist.

Comical upon reflection but honestly I’m still shivering and trying to shake it off.

Funny how those tiny creatures do that to us…. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

We dropped the car off and walked the 3 dogs back up the road. It’s a good hour and 10 minute walk, too long a walk for Khaleesi on her sore legs.

How lovely is this wall that we passed? The tiny flowers are so pretty.

I did stop to think when we got here… I’m conscious I get bored with the same walks all the time but we really are so lucky to live here.

The smell of the wild garlic is everywhere.

When I got home I really angrily started on the housework. It really needs doing but I really don’t enjoy doing it.

I know….. who does, but sometimes I approach it from a place of enjoyment. Today it just felt like hard work.

There is dog hair EVERYWHERE…. I’m shouting a lot today with my capitals 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. I also get frustrated about things being out of the place and I feel like I’m moving stuff around the house. I’m aware it made me angry today and I stomped about the house like a spoiled child. I was in such a huff that I had to do it.

So….. I dragged Craig out to Mocha Jaks for lunch. He’s got the start of a cold so is currently passed out on the couch as I write this.

He had a chicken and bacon club toastie and I had veggie haggis with cheese and siracha.

I’d fasted for 18 hours and 45 minutes so I really enjoyed my meal.

I had an oat milk latte and a Biscoff Rocky Road.

We popped past our friend Euan and had a peppermint tea and a chat before Craig ran me to the garage…… my car was parked away in this wee corner!

Turns out it has a dry bush.

It now has a wet bush.

Good to know. 😂

More importantly, the wetting of the bush didn’t cost me anything 😂

On the way back, I went to the Co-op to get some food for the weekend…. We’re heading away tomorrow for an overnight in Tayvalich with Lindsay and Euan.

I had a bath to relax when I got home. It’s only 6.20pm now and I could quite easily sleep already!

Day 1380 this too shall pass… ♥️

So yeah, not the best of days today but I’ve still been for a dog jog AND a long dog walk so that’s gotta count for something…. AND I’ve tidied the house and gone to Tesco for a food shopping.

I’m gonna make this quick because I know this will pass. I’m not giving it power over me by writing about how I feel today. I will share some of my photos though…. Even though it’s been a very grey and windy day.

When they start off they are actually running with excitement…. Woah woah woah woah woah puppers… mumma can’t keep up 😂

I’m wearing old trainers as my feet get so wet outdoors in my current trainers, yet these old ones make both knees hurt almost immediately. I limped the last stretch home.

Changed into my walking shoes for a long walk with Bhruic and had no pain AT ALL. This knee pain is so strange…. Since we started sleeping at the bottom of the bed (like crazy people!) I’ve had no real knee pain at night, I’m not even having to use the pillow for elevation. Who knows what’s happening there?!

Bhru and I walked a way I haven’t gone for ages. I wanted to spend some one on one time with her. We passed the trees I used to see on my way to counselling every week. I think of them as my therapy trees.

I let her off lead and work on recall. She’s really good.

She’s loving the freedom.

We walked to this wee burn and back. Not been here in so long. She wanted to go and run in the field but there are sheep in the back right field and I wasn’t convinced that it was secure enough… taking no chances.

This is the level we’re at today… I love the deep tyre treads a tractor makes.

I’m fascinated but the shapes…. Big circles on the top and hexagons, under the weight at the bottom.

I saw my first snowdrops of the year! So pretty.

I came home and ran about doing random housework and tidied up some things in the garden that had blown over in the wind.

I headed down to Tesco for a food shop and diesel ready for my 11 days of work ahead.

So yeah, inwards and upwards as they say. (oh Freudian slip there!! I’m leaving that in)

It’s pretty dull outside so I have my new Sand + Paws candle burning. I got this from Craig’s sister along with my Joma bracelet.

I wuf you 🐾

The business was set up by girls in California to get rid of the smell of wet dog after being down at the beach. Just wet mud here today!

I’m at 21 hours fasting which I’m really pleased about. I can only do this at weekends… I can’t manage a long fast through the week. I never set out to do a long one, it just happens some times . Craig’s made his amazing rice pudding so I’ll be having some of that shortly 😋 then I’m gonna have a nap!

Day 1280 back to earth with a bump but finally awake!

Thankfully way more awake and switched on for the first day back at work. I could even remember some things from before my holiday…. I mean, I was impressed!!

I’ve not been in the best frame of mind if I’m honest but come on, who is first day back?!

The office was pretty spotless which was very impressive 😂

I worked till 5pm and didn’t make a dent in the work I’ve got to catch up on but I’ll get there.

I’ve been on a roll since I got home and made a lovely salad for dinner, emptied and filled the dishwasher, hung up a washing and taken Calaidh for a lovely evening walk. I left at half 6 and got chatting to our new lovely neighbours so it was dark by the time I got home!

I loved the walk in the almost dark (my friend Evelyn will get cross with me…😂😘) and Calaidh did too.

It’s felt good to do things in the evening. I was so lethargic yesterday…. I could barely think straight, it feels really good to be way more alert.
