Day 1618 a very productive and restful Sunday

It’s only 2.20pm so far and I’ve already had a lovely day.

The sun hasn’t come out yet despite being forecast but it’s stayed dry.

I had a lie in until 8am. Check me… šŸ˜†

Craig and I sat and had coffee…

I commented on this lovely Coffee & Quotes post that I am not ready for Autumn yet but I’ll try and embrace it! šŸšŸ‚šŸšŸ‚ where was our summer?!? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Craig was wood cutting with the Village Woodcutters this morning so I took the dogs up the hill. Our regular field was being muck spread so I avoided that like the plague and went a different way. We’ve not been up this path for a long time and it’s become very overgrown. I didn’t take photos but have done 3 reels today. You’ll find them on my The Rambling Sloth Instagram.

I did take this one heading home.

I loved watching them exploring and sniffing out new scents. Playing with sticks and stones… yeah not great and you have to watch them carefully, but they love it.

I then took Miss Khaleesi out for her 10 minutes…

Some fangs she has… munching on grass! She was in good spirits on her walk today again..

I came home and made a Peanut butter curry with chickpeas. (Click the link for the recipe).

It is LOVELY!!!! So good. It will last a few meals this week.

I also made a pot of lentil soup with my new Chopper from Amazon. It’s the first time I used it and it dices an onion like slicing through butter. It chips a potato in the same fashion. I also grated my fingers but hey… šŸ˜†

We then went to Mocha Jak’s for lunch.

I had the veggie haggis and Siracha toastie, Craig had a BLT triple stack!

With a lovely iced oat milk coffee…. I forgot to ask for DECAF…. Buzzing….. šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

We got home and I ironed some more holiday clothes and really feel like I’m ready for my holiday now. We leave at 3.15am on Thursday. It’s nice to be organised and in control… for now. šŸ˜†

We then popped into the pub for a couple. Our lovely neighbours are looking after the puppers when we were away and will move in. We are so lucky that they will do that for us. My inlaws are very good too and will come and stay when we need them.

We hate leaving them…. Craig will worry about them a lot when we are away. I will just be drawn to any dog that I see!!

So I’ve had a lovely weekend! A perfect combination of action and relaxation for me.

I forgot I’ve done all the housework through the weekend too…. I was hoovering before the dogs were up this morning. I can’t leave the house in a mess. šŸ˜† it’s hard work being a woman sometimes. šŸ˜†

Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Stay safe everyone ā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļø

Day 1423 a crazy busy day with dog walk AND cooking šŸ˜‚

A wonderful, wonderful sleep last night. I never heard Craig come up to bed, never heard a thing all night.

I’m using deep sleeps earplugs from Amazon. Snoring?!? I hear nothing but yeah rumour has it I am….. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚šŸ˜¬ oops sorry…. I can’t hear a thing šŸŽ§šŸ˜‚

I woke at 5.15am and snuggled back down for another hour. I felt so refreshed when I got up.

Once I’d had my shower I felt really stiff….. I haven’t walked the length of myself all weekend. Last weekend I walk 35 miles, this weekend less than 10,000 steps. I’m sure I feel more stiff when I exercise less.

I hobbled out to the car.

By the time I got to work I couldn’t walk properly. I couldn’t put any weight on my left leg. When I did I got an excruciating pain and my left gave way. I hobbled into the office. It was so painful.

I sat about for a bit but as sore as it was, I realised the more I walked, the more it eased off. I went for a jog around the car park… as you do at 8.10am. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚. It totally eased it off and I’ve been fine for the rest of the day.

Work was beyond busy today.

Just another manic Monday! A throwback from my 80’s singsong in the car yesterday.

By the time I got lunch I had fasted for 22.5 hours. It was just the fastest day.

When I got home I literally dragged myself out in a dog walk. I know I need to keep moving and exercise more.

It would have been so easy to come in and sit down.

I took Freya and Calaidh and despite the meh weather, we had a good walk. Exercise is good for the soul.

Check Freya with her wee bunch of cut grass in her mouth šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

If you zoom in she has a mouthful!!!

I got another food delivery, this time from Planthood…. Only because I got a voucher for money off.

I decided to have Crispy Mushroom Shawarma With Garlic Tahini Sauce, Pickled Radish & Fresh Mint In Soft Flatbread. Sounds awfy fancy eh?!?

Here are the ingredients.

It’s so easily packaged and easy to make. It took less than 20 minutes.

This is what it turned out like and I can honestly say it was out of this world.

I wrapped it and it tasted so good and I feel really full after it.

I’ve had at least 4 of my 5 a day today and that feels good.

It’s been a good day. life is for living…. Let’s do it!

Day 1146 a beautiful day outside!!

To be fair, it’s been a beautiful day inside too. Finally we have a day of shorts and vest top…. Out in the garden. You’ve kept us waiting for this, 2023!

I slept really well all night, again. Could not wake up this morning at all. Have been looking forward to some good weather and getting the bedding washed, dried and back on the bed, so,I finally got moving.

The day started with dog jog and very tangled leads šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚

Nothing is more beautiful than the colours on a sunny day. That sky…. šŸ’™šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æ

These next two are just the cow parsley at the side of the road! It’s taking over the world!

The buttercups are out in full force too.

The cows are totally checking us out!

So back home and it was straight into doggy bath time…. It’s been a while and when you have 3 dogs, grooming can add up.

Freya was first and I forgot to take photos of her…. I am totally soaked after her!

Then Calaidh who was surprisingly dirty… she hides it well in that black coat of hers.

She who wants to bit the shower spray any chance she gets, is surprisingly traumatised by being washed! Then Bhru… she looks like she’s smiling but I think she thought she could get out the bath via the taps… she’d planned an escape šŸ˜‚

Here they all are out in the garden, drying very quickly, all fluffy and clean. Note the bedding on the line as well…. It’s definitely washing day in our house!!

All that and 2 loads done and I t’s not even 9.30am!!

Next step was the rockery. Now I think it looks lovely and wild but it is FULL of weeds and someone I live with, is not a fan of a weed…..

I’ve done really well but it’s nowhere near where it needs to be. I hit a wall around 12.30!

So really for the rest of the day I’ve been sitting on a sun lounger and having spurts of weeding energy.

I did open my eyes to this…. At one point!

That’s what happens when you put yourself at their level… šŸ˜‚

Another spurt…. Before.

…and after!

We’ve had a lovely dinner tonight…. Cooked over the fire!

Spiced venison hotpot. It was amazing!!

Craig did very well for his first South African potjie…. Or as close as we can get to it! The ā€œrulesā€ say it’s not to be stirred but we stirred ours….. ours I have a cheek… I stirred Craig’s šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚. There’s lots of seasoning in it that we bought from Amazon. The meat is browned with the onions and them the veg layered on top. He made enough for 6 people. Guess what’s we’re having for the next few days?!?

So all in all, we’ve had a really lovely day. We’ve done lots but also rested lots too.

It got a wee bit chilly an hour or so ago so I gave in and put a T-shirt on… of course now the sun is back out.

The sign of a good day off is when it feel likes it’s been longer than one day and it’s still only 5.15pm!

Stay safe everyone šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æšŸ’™ā˜€ļø
