2.30am I woke up….. Craig had a long lie until 2.45am. 😆
The trip to Glasgow was seamless and the flight took off bang on time.
My anxiety actually flared before take off and I ended up taking some anti anxiety meds that the doc had prescribed. I just took one and it calmed my racing heart. I was starting to panic about having a solo female traveller business and being too nervous to travel and how would that work.
Ridiculous I know but anxiety can hit when I feel out of control. I’ll always share that.
Cue a huge snow storm in Prague and we had to circle for a half hour before the runway was cleared to land. It’s snowed on and off all day.
We got an Uber to our hotel for £17. A bit decadent maybe but we were shattered. It was a 40 minute journey so a good price for that.
We’re staying at the Wenceslas Square Hotel.
It’s not on Wenceslas Sqaure and our room is on the 3rd floor of a listed building with no lift!!! We’re getting a workout but that’s half the fun.
We left our bags and took their recommendation for lunch….Husinec Restaurace… it was so lovely. The food looks so different to what we would eat at home, quite basic but lovely.
I had grilled cheese and it was amazing.
Then we went for a wander… headed for the old town square.

And then we headed back and had a 2 hour nap!

Then we set off out for a drink, alcohol free for me of course.
We stumbled on Vytopna…. meat and beer on rails!!
A huge train set brings the beers and the food around the restaurant!
We only had some chips as lunch had been so huge. More out of greed than anything else. It’s such a cool place to visit. It did cost us just under £50 so not that cheap but very cool and not to be missed!
And a sparkly wander back to the hotel.
Turns out Good King Wenceslas wasn’t actually that good but his brother was so bad that it made Wenceslas look good! His brother killed him!! Who knew.
So off out exploring tomorrow. It’s nowhere near as cold this weekend, as was fprecast, so we’re not gonna be cold! We packed for -10°C!
