Craig woke me at 6.30am and it took me a long time to wake up……. We’d planned an early trip into Rhodes Town this morning to get there before the crowds.
To be honest it was pretty quiet the whole time we were there.

It’s an hour and a half by bus… on the way there we were one of only two couples!
I’ve been to Rhodes Town in 1992 and it’s safe to say I hardly remembered any of it! I know I never went to the Old Town… I was young and all about the sun.. none of the exploring.
Now I’m all about the exploring!!
Rhodes Old Town blew me away.
It’s not as pretty or as dramatic as Dubrovnik was last year, but it’s dramatic in its own right. I’m so glad we went to see it.
Sunrise over the main pool as we left this morning.

The main hotel picking up the morning sun.

It was a lovely sunrise walk down to the bus… only 10 minutes… past the local herd of goats!

They just wander about freely!

Surmise over the Lindos Aropolis… with wires for authenticity!

This road is normally pretty busy when we cross to head down into Lindos…. Not at 7.15am on a Sunday!!

This is sunrise over Lindos taken over my right shoulder on a moving bus…. It’s not bad!

After an hour and a half we are in Rhodes Town.

Craig looks for a cafe on google maps and finds Timeless Town…. So we head for that. Iced Almond Latte for me and Iced Cappucino for Craig.

We set off for Rhodes Old Town.

As usual there is no history lesson from me…. I’m way more about the beauty and capturing photos against the blue sky… Craig acted as my historian, filling me in as we walked.

We stopped for a drink in a roof top cafe…. It was so hot we needed to cool down. What a view!

Back round to the sea!

There are boats that are shops selling shells and sponges… most of them were closed.

Don’t think this boat will last long!

The service was being broadcast live from this Greek Orthodox Church.

This is like a Hope Blamire paining on a wall!!

Through the hole!

From the top of the wall.

Crystal clear water!

A fisherman with a very brown back!!

Breathing in the shade!

We ended up going back to Timeless Town for lunchas the restaurants on the front were all photos of very unappealing looking meals. I tried to pick a salad from a horrible photo collection…..

Timeless Town was much better! I had another amazing salad and Craig had a Truffle Burger.
My salad has gogi berries, feta, sesame seed snaps, tomatoes with spinach and rocket.

We caught the 2pm bus home and sat right at the front!!

A hot walk back up to the hotel….

Quick dip on the pool to cool off and relax….

No early rise tomorrow!!
Stay safe everyone ☀️🇬🇷☀️
