Day 1596 a glorious day on Loch Ness ☀️🦕

Oh my word. What a beautiful day.

It is a scorcher up here in Inverness. It’s 11.33 and the sky still doesn’t have a single cloud.

Mum and I went for a wee walk down to the Caledonian Canal before 9am. It was so still and so calm.

This hill is a cemetery. There was no crematorium until around 1998 and until then, everyone had to be buried.

Something even more poignant about the hill… knowing that.

Glynis picked us up after 9am and we headed out to An Talla on the banks of the Caledonian Canal and the mouth of Loch Ness.

THEY HAVE HIGHLAND COOS!!!!

We went into An Talla for breakfast.

It is honestly a scorcher.

We are sailing with Jacobite Cruises 🚢 I’m back on the water!!

We head out into Loch Dochfour first.

Then back into a small section of canal before we sail into Loch Ness.

Apparently the loch can have up to 6 foot waves… today it’s like a millpond.

We headed up to Urquart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness.

Aldourie Castle.

Dochfour House.

This is where the River Ness flows away from the canal… check the fisherman walking up the weir.

That was absolutely out of this world!!

So our day is not over but I’m going to leave the blog here for today. We are about to get a Miele’s Gelato and sit in the sun.

Then we’re off to Nairn for dinner.

Glynis has planned the most amazing trip for us… she didn’t plan the weather but it couldn’t have been better!

Stay safe everyone ♥️♥️♥️
