I came in from work tonight and the house has all been cleaned and looking lovely.
Itās sooooo good to come home to a clean house. Itās such a relief to not have to do any housework tonight. Thank you Craigie!
My friend Tracey in Canada sent me a recipe called Detox Salad overnightā¦. Of course I decided not to wash my hair this morning so I could head to the supermarket before work.
Why do I find these things so difficult to do after work?!? I go before work, have 20 minutes spare and trying to read a recipe and find things I have no idea where they are in the supermarket. š¤¦š»āāļøšš no pressure.
I made it with two minutes to spare this morning, I got everything I needed. Check me.
I got home from work and the second ingredient was a veggie stock cube⦠and when she got there the cupboard was bare!! Noneā¦. Dammitā¦. Thankfully Claire had some and gave me two.
So I made Crazy Vegan Kitchenās Detox Salad. The only negatives are trying to figure out what a ācupā measurement is and thinking that Cilantro was Celeryā¦. š¤¦š»āāļøš
It took me about 35 minutes to make, which is a bit long for my liking⦠but I love it.
Mumā¦.. I need a big mixing bowl from the charity shop if you get one in⦠we communicate through the blog these days! š

I have plenty for lunch and dinner tomorrow.

I also listened to a podcast today to improve your morning routine with Mel Robbins.
The theory is that if you do these 3 things it will give you a better approach to the day. Youāll be more alert and less likely to have an afternoon slump.
Get up with the alarm⦠average snoozers waste 4 weeks in a year snoozing⦠those who get up are less lethargic and ready for action. Iām a getter- upperer⦠most days but I will try to be more aware of this. (I also make up words!)
Trying to sit in natural light before you look at artificial screen lightā¦.. allows you to control your own mind rather than the things you read on your phone.
Iām not sure how to do this as Iām not going to sit outside first thing but I think it just means not to pick up the phone before youāve been outside and in the present moment. This is definitely something I could try.
Drink a big glass of water, 90 minutes before your first coffee⦠as coffee (non decaf) actually makes you feel more tired and encourages an afternoon slump. It was a really interesting podcast. Mel Robbins is a good listen.

Donāt like the sound of those changes to the morning routine at all. If I want a snooze on the snooze button, Iām having one, I would not consider this needed rest as a waste of my time (but there is a danger of being late for work). If I donāt check my phone first thing, I will be too anxious thereās an urgent message from the care home that I need to deal with before work, and I do have a glass of water before my coffee but only 30 mins before. Coffee first thing at work, with caffeine, otherwise I donāt feel awake enough to even start my day! I know Iām a particularly sleepy person. Anyway I hope the changes help you, you are much more a morning person than me. I couldnāt possibly consider shopping or cleaning or anything other than dressing hurriedly and eating breakfast, checking my phone before work⦠Xx

The mornings are a magical time for me. Iād happily go to bed at 7pm just to be up and enjoy being up and about first! Funny eh?! X
